Twenty-seven
to thirty-five.
Scale is the distance from the nut to the twelfth fret, doubled. It is not the length of the instrument — a Mini measures thirty-seven inches end to end and still has a twenty-seven inch scale.
Shorter scale means less string tension at the same pitch. Easier on the hands, warmer and rounder through an amp, and a shorter reach to first position. It is the whole reason this shop exists.

Unbelievable balance, ultra-light weight
The first thing you notice when you pick up a Woodcraft bass is how light it feels. Weighing right around 7 lbs, it sits naturally against your body with zero neck dive. It's easily one of the most comfortable short-scale instruments I've played for long gigs and tracking sessions.
Zero noise
I was blown away by how quiet the electronics are. Standard single-coil short-scale basses usually hum like crazy under stage lights or near amps, but the split-coil pickup design completely kills the 60-cycle hum while keeping that punchy, organic tone intact.
Intonation spot-on, thanks to AlBridge
The AlBridge bell-bronze bridge setup makes a massive difference. The intonation is dead-on across the entire fretboard, the tuning stability is rock-solid, and the sustain is incredible for a compact bass.
