A Musicmaster
that grew up.
Fender's short-scale student bass got the shape right and the hardware wrong. The AmpMaster keeps the 30-inch scale and the six-pound weight, then rebuilds everything the original compromised on.
- BridgeAlbridge duralumin, aircraft grade, pure bell-bronze saddles on extra-hard tension springs. No parasitic rattle. 18mm string spacing.
- PickupsHand-wound split coils, dual-poled. No sixty-cycle hum. CTS pots, disc filter capacitor, graphite-shielded cavity.
- NeckHard rock maple, "Easy-Wheel" dual-action truss rod plus two titanium reinforcement rods. Adjust it on the spot, no wrench.
- NutTUSQ. Harder to cut than brass or corian, and worth it — clearer, more balanced, smoother.
- WeightAround six pounds. Twelve and a quarter inches across the lower bout, an inch and a half deep.

This kit was very easy to install on my Telecaster — just four screws for the neck and the same holes for the bridge. And the tone! Holy moly, my Telecaster became more open and even. Left hand just flying over the neck.
Wow, it's so easy to play. I did not notice this is a multiscale guitar.
Intonation is more accurate. This is so much better than anything I ever tried.
